Meditation is a practice of cleaning the subconscious mind.
The subconscious mind rules about 70% of your actions, reactions, and behaviour.
That means you are being controlled by feelings that are unconscious, or unknown to you. You are being controlled by what you’ve suppressed.
Subconscious Mind
When trauma, big emotions, or discomfort occur ,and are not wholly honoured or felt as they arise, they get stored in the subconscious mind. These are painful moments in your life that you try to hide from so you don’t have to feel the shame they invoke.
Shame is a feeling you have when you believe that there is something wrong with you.
Imagine all of your past experiences and pain built up into a residue that is collecting in your subconscious mind. This residue becomes the lens through which you experience the world around you. This residue skews your reality. This residue creates wrong perception and illusion.
It is your wrong perceptions that create pain and discomfort for you.
Does This Sound Familiar?
You are easily triggered.
You have intense, seemingly uncontrollable reactions to certain people or situations.
You continually find yourself in conflict with the same type of person.
Certain situations in your life are building in difficulty and intensity.
These are a few of many signs that it is time to find a place to sit and be still. It is time to start cleaning your subconscious mind. When you create a meditation practice, it has the power to transform you. Imagine yourself reacting, speaking, behaving and thinking from a place that feels rock solid and peaceful. Imagine yourself confident and unshakable in your self worth.
3 Minutes a Day
What if I told you that something as simple as 3 minutes a day could deliver these results?
Meditation cleans the subconscious mind. Sometimes it does so without our realizing it, we simply feel better after. Other times, meditation feels uncomfortable. Why?
Discomfort is Good News
One of the problems is that when you sit down to meditate a lot of your subconscious pain starts floating to the surface of your body and mind. This can take the form of a painful memory, an annoying thought, or uncomfortable feelings like sadness or anger.
Two Key Pieces of Advice
Trust and keep going.
Trust
Trust that whatever rises to the surface does so for healing. All this juicy healing can make learning to meditate a little uncomfortable.
Keep Going
Just when you want to stop, do not stop. Keep going and you will be amazed at your results.
